STUDENT GAMING ADDICTION CRISIS
INFORMATION ON GAMING ADDICTION FORUM FOR STUDENTS
This Forum is for Students of all ages and those who care for them.
Nova Scotia is plagued by a STUDENT GAMING CRISIS! This Forum is our attempt to offer support to those who need it and to share crucial information with those who live and work amid our youth within our communities and within their support systems.
Topics
Some topics of the presentations include:
1. Questions and signs that can determine if you, or someone you know may have a gaming addiction
2. Harms and consequences of a gaming addiction
3. Roles the gaming industry play to encourage addictive behavior in youth
4. Mental Health and Addiction's Best Practices for dealing with a gaming addiction for youth
5. What resources are available to the youth to reduce the harms of a gaming addiction
This Forum will be an intensive learning opportunity for many and attendees are encourage to bring note pads and prepare questions in advance. Unasked questions may be discreetly responded to by our team of volunteers in a timely manner.
This Forum is open to all students (any age) struggling with a gaming addiction, parents, guardians, teachers, school employees, health care professionals and workers, youth support agency workers, judicial and legal service providers with school aged clients, community supporters or representatives of the youth and any citizens concerned with the impact of gaming on our youth.
Discretion Assured. This is an in person only event and will not be recorded or broadcasted. Strict privacy and anonymity policy in place. Please RSVP as space is limited.

This event is hosted by the Gamblers and Gaming Support Society Pictou County Chapter. The venue was gratefully provided by the Stellarton Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28.
